Entrance Exams
Many nursing programs now require an entrance exam to help them determine the best qualified students. Due to a shortage of nurse educators and accredited nursing programs, most nursing schools are impacted and have waiting lists. In the U.S. and it's territories, graduates of RN and LPN/LVN (practical nursing) programs are required to sit for a licensing examination called the National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX for short.
This exam measures the competency of the new nurse graduate to safely perform the duties of a registered or practical nurse.
